The human-train ad for the Commonwealth Games but...

As most of you know the 19th Commonwealth Games were recently held in India.

The closing ceremony
This Indian Railways ad was aired to celebrate the games and it shows a growing human-train with lots of people running around playing the train game and others enjoy themselves watching the train move around.

I like the ad and i believe the message is that Indian Railways can bring people together. So well done to the Agency Ogilvy & Mather Delhi and the production company Nirvana Films.

Now my questions is...don't women use trains in India? Why don't we see women in the human train?

By the way, Australia won the games, with India and England coming second and third.

  1. probably cause they are quite happy to watch the men do all the hard work as the engine - while they watch in amazement - very nice advert and what a nice town

  2. Great ads are always 'simple' in concept, eh? One main symbol is all you need.

I wonder if, because the train is machine, mechanical, hard [and in India, women symbolise soft, gentle], that's why they didn't use women in the ad? Don't know, just guessing. Interesting.

  3. Agree with both, women both seem to enjoy watching the male-train and of course they are soft and gentle...well, most of them...;)
