Volkswagen, a few months ago, came up with something unique and original to promote its new Polo GTi.
The digital campaign was not car advertising in the classic sense as the Director of Marketing, Luca de Meo, said. The aim was to inspire young people for Volkswagen brand products. Facebook users in Europe were the first to see exclusively the new model, as the German car maker was hoping to attract a young audience to the brand.
VW produced three videos where the vehicle is not immediately in evidence. These videos depict clever scenes that add an unusual touch to everyday life, such as a giant slide at subway steps, a particularly agile supermarket cart or an elevator that sounds like a rocket about to take off.
The films convey the thrill of speed without encouraging fast driving.

Very simple but still clever and original.
To find out more about the “Fast Lane – Driven by Fun” campaign visit the VW Facebook page where you will also find the other two videos.
Love it! As you say to show speed without showing speeding drivers is very clever.

Hello, I apologize for adding a comment, but I can't find your email anywhere! :)
ReplyDeleteReading through your blog, I thought you might be interested in the latest Bayt.com project.
Check it out here: http://marketinghub.me.
Basically, what we're doing is creating a resource for marketing professionals in the region where they can find awesome content (reports, articles, research papers). We have a networking aspect as well, though I must say my favorite part is the "Career Assessment", where marketeers can take both fun quizzes and the Career Analysis which we based on 10-years' worth of Bayt.com research.
If you like it, I'd very much appreciate it if you blog about it as well.
Thanks :)
