If you’ve been waiting to use Google+ for your business then the wait is over. Google+ has finally launched the feature which allows brands and businesses to have a presence on this social network.
If you’re already using G+ on a personal level you will notice that the new G+ brand Pages look similar to G+ Profiles. The set up and page customisation, for the moment, is very straight forward and quick, if you want to give it a try just click here.
G+ is nowhere close to Facebook in terms of users, I’ve read G+ has somewhere close to 45 millions, but your brand could be doing well on G+ if aimed at men since about 75% of its users are males.
To help people 'googling' companies transform their queries into meaningful connections another service has also just been launched; Google+ Direct Connect, which lets you quickly navigate to a G+ Page (and even add that page to your circles) when using Google Search.
This video below explains it all.
Of course I had to set up a page for Oman Collective Intelligence, and this will be my first post on it. Will you set up yours?
800 million users on Facebook, and I'm told that almost all (99%+) of "Google+" users also have active Facebook accounts and are experimenting with the new platform.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Google are hoping to do to Facebook what Facebook did to Myspace, Bebo, Hi5 and a dozen others. But it's a much bigger hill to climb...I'll leave it a year and see how the numbers are looking before bothering with Google+.
Pro: Way better than Facebook in terms of directing content to/from contacts - and Facebooks attempts to catch up are causing mayhem with newsfeeds. I believe most Facebook users would jump if they could be sure everyone else would.
ReplyDeleteCon: Everything is linked to one Google account. So if you use a different name, profile pic in plus, it changes in your e-mail and everywhere else. Facebook users won't want to be first to jump.
@Lino; i also thought of giving it sometime but in the mean time I'll play with it and find out more. After all who could go after Facebook if not Google?
ReplyDelete@Mr Grumpy; agree with you, it has some advantages and disadvantages. I was hoping for G+ to come up with something better for Pages since they waited so long to introduce them. Let's give it sometime but i would not be surprised if it failed.
