Last month i posted (here) about "The Social Network", the movie about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his partners, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher. A few days ago the trailer was released by Sony, you can view it below.
Sony is using Twitter to drive people to 500MillionFriends.com, the site that houses the film’s trailer, music and the movie poster featuring the tagline, “You Don’t Get to 500 Million Friends Without Making a Few Enemies.”
The funny thing is that Sony can’t market the film on Facebook!! A Sony spokesman said that Facebook doesn’t allow ads that reference the company unless Facebook is cooperating. Facebook, as a matter of fact, is not cooperating on the movie...
At a recent conference Mark Zuckerberg, the main character in the film, said that he wished the film hadn’t been made in his lifetime.
Will you watch it?
Maybe this has to do with his image. In a way this movie is free publicity for him.
ReplyDeletefor me its look like a good movie to know how facebook created but still not all people used it in a good way ( get enemi )
ReplyDeletebut for me i might go to see it
and i don't know about 500 milion i really don't care about that !!
but facebook is great , its the only way i found my dearst friends
Dear Maurizio,
ReplyDeleteyour comment on a comment of mine (Thank you!) gave me the idea to write "Hooked on Facebook?"- this time on Hamburgmylovely.blogspot.com , because it has nothing to do with gardening. Though, come to think of it: cultivating might be appropriate...
In Berlin I met a young girl from Saudi-Arabia who reads your blog too!
Britta
Domino, does FB need any extra advertising? I don't think so, but some smart people will be capitalizing on this.
ReplyDeleteAmal, i might not watch the movie but i agree, FB is great for keeping in touch with old friends and relatives.
Britta, will come and check out your post...:). About your friend from Saudi, wow, it is really a small world!!
I'm puzzled...Mark Zuckerberg said that he wished the film hadn’t been made in his lifetime...did he agree to it being made? If not, can a film be made about a living person if that person doesn't want it?
