Here follows my yearly list of Facebook pages in Oman. 

The following is only about showing off the number of fans; no engagement, no interaction...just that number that everyone looks at, fans. You’ll see lots of familiar brands and some unexpected names. 

Telecoms, shopping malls and car manufacturers all have a strong presence. As usual I gathered pages in English (or some cases both Arabic and English) and those which have been updated at least once in the past month.

Now let’s see how many of those fans are actually from Oman. If you’re a newspaper, like Times of Oman, or an airline, like Oman Air, or an entertainer, like Humocracy, then it makes sense if you have many fans from other countries.

BUT if, for instance, you’re a local bank, like BankMuscat, or a local car dealer, like Hyundai Oman, or a local radio station, like Hi FM, then shouldn't most of your fans be Oman based rather than...erm...Russia, Brazil and Serbia?
