Sami is one of those people I’ll never be bored listening to; i met him several times and he's always positive and entertaining. Very successful at all he does as
you’ll see from what he has achieved already. He's a sort of jack of all trades. Here is what Sami shared with us:

First Omani holding a degree in (Social Marketing - Specialist in Emotional
Branding), Researcher in Burnout Syndrome (Depression at Work), X-Model, a
Fashion Designer & Founder of Razza Fashion, Radio Show Presenter, Social
Media Personality & currently studying Leadership Management at Capella
University - USA (online)
Current
place of work?

- Instructor at Dubai Medical College (3 Days/ Month)
- Having My Radio Show on Hala FM - 102.7 (once a week)

How
did your passion for social media started?
In-fact it was a need & a must for me to educate
our community & youth MEDICALLY at the very early beginning! Then it
converted to a journey of discovering my own abilities & capabilities in
Social Marketing (which is: marketing for a product or a service by finding
solutions for social problems).
Have
you ever thought it could become your ‘real’ job?
I never expected that to be honest! It just started!
& suddenly I found myself becoming one of Oman’s most recognised faces
through social media!
Today, it is A PART OF MY JOB! As a social marketer,
I need to be in touch with our clients/ colleagues/ social researchers &
followers continuously BECAUSE OF THE MULTI CAREER PATH I HAVE!
What’s
your favourite platform?
Well, it depends on the ongoing trend in social
media! For Example, before 2012, THE FACEBOOK TREND WAS THE DOMINANT! Since
then, Instagram is changing business & marketing - leaving a very positive
impact on SMEs specially!
What’s
the biggest challenge you had to face?
THE
PRE-PAID ADS in Facebook (& soon in Instagram)! That delays (or
minimises) the effectiveness & delivery of your messages to
followers!
And
the biggest satisfaction?
The respect we get in return from followers &
feedback from youth on THE POSITIVE INFLUENCE WE HAVE ON THEM!
How
many hours a day do you spend on social media?
You rather ask HOW MANY TIMES I DO USE SOCIAL MEDIA
FOR MY DIFFERENT PURPOSES!
I use it at least 4 times hourly (5 minutes for
each)!
But, it takes hours to prepare what we need to post
on our walls & pages! As i do my own graphics, posters & I do write my
own articles/ advices & publish them through connected social media
accounts, so yes it needs one hour at least every morning to prepare the whole
day topics/subjects!
Who’s
the person you read/follow the most online?
I used to in the past, when I was keen to see the
updates of many friends/ social media celebs etc, but now I’m busy with my
fashion business, studying online, preparing for my media (TV & RADIO)
weekly episodes & yes.. I am reducing the social media tool & increasing
the space to meet & interact with people socially (real life)!
If
you were not into social media, what would you be doing?
USING OLD SCHOOL MEDIA TOOLS (TV, Radio & Press)
- But Thank GOD I’m not!
Well
done Dr. Sami, keep the good stuff coming.

The strangest part about being famous is you don't have the option to give first impressions. Everyone already has an impression of you before you meet them.
ReplyDeleteNice post. I really liked it. This post is interesting and well-informed. I rarely meet such articles. I love the postes in such style. Thanks a lot for this work.
