A day in the life of a Social Media Guru

There’s a lot that goes into creating and managing social media and it’s not just Tweeting, playing on Facebook, watching YouTube videos or generally surfing the net.
If you are a business pondering over what your Social Media Manager does all day here follows the demanding 24/7 schedule:

06:30am to 12:30pm
  • Briefly review all notifications on the phone...from bed.
  • Check all mails received overnight (obviously gurus you receive mails from all over the world).
  • Start Tweeting and sharing valuable content.
  • Write a blog post.
  • Interact with the online community; answer questions and comments, verify that the overall general feedback and sentiment is positive.
  • Be ready to capture a great moment with your phone camera at any time; this will go on Instagram of course.

From 12:30pm to 07:00pm
  • A well deserved lunch, most likely with another expert, to discuss the latest online developments and buzz. Foursquare and Facebook Check-ins included.
  • Weekly presentation, or a Skype conference call, to the Management.
  • Write a blog post, as scheduled, for the client’s blog.
  • Prepare Facebook scheduled post and Tweet so there’s no need to wake up at night.
  • Meeting with the Social Media team to recap on what’s been achieved and if in line with objectives.

From 7:00pm to 06:30am
  • Check all stats and insights and compare them to the performance indicators previously set.
  • Prepare tomorrow’s video-seminar.
  • Test the latest social network and write a blog review.
  • Check mail for the last time.

Isn't it one of the best jobs in the world! ;)
